HIGH PLAINS REGIONAL RENDEZVOUS

Flying Bison Canyon Minneapolis, KS

We invite everyone to attend the 2024 HPRR in north-central Kansas and enjoy the beauty and history of the Flying Bison Canyon in the historic Pipe Creek Valley. The Pipe Creek Valley has been a travel and hunting corridor between the Republican River and the Solomon River for over 10,000 years. Artifacts and sites show a native presence on Pipe Creek from the late paleo period through to the horse cultures of the plains. Flying Bison Canyon is named for a feature at the north end of the canyon. A crude stone fence ending in a 25ft cliff we think is a bison jump kill site. The High Plains Regional Rendezvous is a family friendly pre-1840 Rendezvous. All camps, accoutrements, clothing and trade goods are required to be representative of the pre-1840 Fur Trade Era.
